Why I went into politics & joined the Party for the Rule of Law
I AM BECAUSE WE ARE. This is the essence of the African philosophy of Ubuntu, meaning individual identity and humanity are deeply tied to community, emphasizing interconnectedness, compassion, and shared existence, where one's being is defined through relationships with others, It’s about collective well-being.
I am a single mother, an Amsterdammer with a migration background, artist, intercultural advisor, and educator. Every day I live the reality that policy is meant to shape, and I know systems only work when designed with empathy and insight into people’s lives.
As a candidate for the Partij voor de Rechtsstaat, I say clearly: we are culture. Art, education, and care are not luxuries, but basic rights — just like housing, gender equality, warm, healthy meals for every child, and the protection of human dignity for all. A just city invests in holistic education, strong communities, public space for creativity and connection, and policies that protect both people and our planet.
I fight for intersectional justice, solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, women’s rights, the international rule of law, poverty reduction, and environmental and climate justice. My commitment doesn’t stop at the city borders: I’m dedicated to building a greener, fairer, and more social world for everyone.
Change begins locally and grows together — WE ARE CULTURE, and together we can make our city just, vibrant, and sustainable.
Partij voor de rechtsstaat
Waarom ik de politiek ben ingeggan en me bij de Partij voor de Rechtsstaat heb aangesloten:
IK BEN OMDAT WIJ ZIJN. Dit is de kern van de Afrikaanse filosofie Ubuntu, wat betekent dat een individu pas volledig mens wordt door zijn verbondenheid met de gemeenschap, en dat onze identiteit en welzijn onlosmakelijk verbonden zijn met die van anderen. Het benadrukt dat je als persoon bestaat dankzij de relaties met je omgeving, je voorouders, en toekomstige generaties.
Ik ben alleenstaande moeder, Amsterdammer met een migratieachtergrond, kunstenaar, zelfstandig ondernemer, intercultureel adviseur, activist en educator. Ik leef elke dag de realiteit waar beleid over gaat en weet dat systemen pas werken wanneer ze ontworpen zijn met empathie en inzicht in de leefwereld van mensen.
Als kandidaat voor de Partij voor de Rechtsstaat zeg ik het helder: wij zijn cultuur. Kunst, educatie en zorg zijn geen luxe, maar basisrechten — net als wonen, gelijke kansen voor vrouwen, warme, gezonde maaltijden voor ieder kind, en de bescherming van ieders menselijke waardigheid. Een rechtvaardige stad investeert in holistische educatie, sterke communities, publieke ruimte voor creativiteit en ontmoeting, en beleid dat zowel mensen als onze planeet beschermt.
Ik strijd voor intersectionele rechtvaardigheid, solidariteit met de LGBTQ+ gemeenschap, vrouwenrechten, internationale rechtsorde, armoedebestrijding en milieu- en klimaatgerechtigheid. Mijn inzet stopt niet bij de stadsgrenzen: ik wil bouwen aan een groenere, sociale en rechtvaardige wereld voor iedereen.
Verandering begint lokaal en groeit samen — WIJ ZIJN CULTUUR. En samen maken we onze stad rechtvaardig, levendig en duurzaam.
