COSMIC SERPENTS - SKIP&DIE
SKIP&DIE’s second album was written and recorded in Brazil, Egypt, Argentina, Colombia, La Reunion island, South Africa, Portugal, and the Netherlands. It incorporates a rich variety of musical styles (from digital cumbia, creole Maloya, Brazilian rasterinha, and electro chaabi - to dub, footwork, and psychedelic rock) which have been inventively merged into an intimately layered SKIP&DIE universe.
The album Cosmic Serpents features a handful of exciting guests from around the globe, including Reunion island band Lindigo, Cairo’s electronic wunderkind Islam Chipsy, Brazil’s DJ Gorki (from Bonde do Role) and brilliant Argentine electronic music artist Chancha Via Circuito

RIOTS IN THE JUNGLE - SKIP&DIE
"Riots in the Jungle" was written by CATA.PIRATA and producer Jori Collignon while they traveled through South Africa’s Soweto, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Gugulethu, collaborating along the way with some of SA’s most inspiring music makers on the rise. The album portrays their experience of blazing sun, dusty roads, township shacks, cockroaches, skulls, bones, and lovebirds. It contains songs in English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Spanish and Portuguese.
The SKIP&DIE album,”Riots in the Jungle” was SKIP&DIE’s debut album and was released on Crammed Discs in 2012. It is available on Spotify.
CATA.PIRATA has been touring and releasing music for over a decade. Her main project over the past years was her tropicalbass band SKIP&DIE with whom she released two albums and quickly became one of the most internationally touring bands: from Amsterdam to China, Reunion Island to Argentina, from South Africa to Colombia, France, and Egypte (to name a few), where airports, tour vans, and stages became their ephemeral homes along the way.
Alongside this, CATA.PIRATA has done various music collabo’s (Naty Botero / Branko / Rimer London) and has toured with bands such as Bomba Estereo, Faithless, Hurts, Kyteman, C-mon & Kypski, La Yegros, Morita Vargas.
