CATA.PIRATA

An artist in every sense of the word, CATA.PIRATA (née Catarina Aimée Dahms) has wowed audiences across the globe with her multilingual songs, spellbinding performances, and captivating visual art.

Born in South Africa, with roots & routes via Argentina, The Azores, Ibiza, and Reunion - and currently based in Amsterdam - CATA.PIRATA is a creative force to be reckoned with.

After releasing two albums, collaborating with a plethora of artists, gaining international recognition for her work (as a singer/songwriter, visual artist, creative- and video director), and touring the world extensively with her previous band SKIP&DIE, CATA.PIRATA is now opening new dimensions to her solo music career.

CATA.PIRATA is currently working on her highly anticipated self-produced solo debut album - written between Argentina, Amsterdam, and Aruba.

The new songs touch on topics such as the melancholy of migration, empowerment, motherhood, and the sensuality of the sea - all through poetic metaphors and in deep-rooted connection with Mother Nature.

If you’re one of the lucky ones to have seen CATA.PIRATA live on stage (be it behind the decks or during a live show) then you know that, without a doubt, things are going to get wild. Her shows will get your heart melting and your hips shaking. CATA.PIRATA mixes the infectious rhythms and folkloric qualities of African, Latin-American, and Caribbean music with psychedelic heavy-beat-based futurism on analog and electronic soundwaves.

The live show accompanying her upcoming debut album tour is set to be an interdisciplinary performance - blending dance, visual poetry, and audio-visual landscapes - into a breathtaking experience worthy of international stages.
